چکیده اصلی

OBJECTIVES: Precision education has been heralded as the future of medical education, yet substantial barriers to realizing this future exist. We sought to explore the current state of precision education in obstetrics and gynecology clerkship settings including barriers to adoption of this approach and strategies to support clinical educators interested in accelerating the advancement of precision education in their educational programs. DESIGN: We designed a survey using an iterative approach informed by a literature review of principles and best practices for a precision education approach in clinical education settings. The survey queried about current adoption of technologies, resources, and approaches associated with precision education, as well as perceived barriers to further adoption of precision education. The survey was piloted among of subset of educators prior to distribution. PARTICIPANTS: Obstetrics and gynecology clerkship directors were identified through cross-referencing list from the LCME and from the national professional society supporting obstetrics and gynecology educators, to optimize our ability to capture one response from each MD granting program within the United States. RESULTS: About 95 clerkship leaders responded, for a response rate of 69.3%. Nearly one-quarter of clerkships use autonomously generated teaching materials, 17% use augmented-reality technologies, and 6% use artificial-intelligence teaching assistants. Factors such as grading system or clerkship director experience were not associated with readiness for precision education. Strategies identified as more practical to implement include automated generation of teaching materials, flexible scheduling of clerkship experiences, and inclusion of students and community members into curricular decisions. CONCLUSIONS: As with other technological advancements in healthcare and education, the adoption of precision education is occurring gradually and at varying paces at institutions across the nation. This work suggests strategies that may be more readily implemented into clerkships for institutions aiming to accelerate progress towards precision education.

ATI-2341 TFA promotes acquisition of epithelial-like immunophenotype in bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and alleviates intrauterine adhesion in a rat model.

BACKGROUND: Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) is a common complication of endometrial injury. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) have been implicated in endometrial repair, but strategies to enhance their therapeutic efficacy remain to be optimized. The C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4)/C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 12 (CXCL12) axis plays a pivotal role in BMSC homing. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to test the hypothesis that ATI-…

Duo Nang Decoction enhances endometrial receptivity in PCOS rats by upregulating caveolin-1 expression.

BACKGROUND: Duo Nang Decoction (DND) is widely used for treating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)-related infertility. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying its action remain unclear. In a previous study, downregulation of caveolin-1 (Cav-1) was shown to impair endometrial angiogenesis, a key determinant of endometrial receptivity. OBJECTIVES: This research study aimed to elucidate the influence and potential molecular mechanism…

MicroRNA-135 alleviates cisplatin resistance in cervical cancer by inhibiting CD44v6.

BACKGROUND: Cervical cancer (CC) remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide and cisplatin resistance poses a major challenge to effective treatment. MicroRNA-135 (miR-135) has been implicated in tumor progression and drug resistance, but its role in cisplatin-resistant CC remains unclear. OBJECTIVES: To investigate whether miR-135 affects cisplatin resistance in CC cells by targeting CD44v6. METHODS: Bioinformatic an…

Acceptability and preference of self-collected vaginal samples for human papillomavirus DNA testing compared with physician-collected Pap smear.

BACKGROUND: Self-collected vaginal sampling for human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing provides a promising alternative to physician-collected Pap smears, especially in low-resource settings. However, data on its acceptability and preferences among Filipino women remain limited. This study aimed to assess women's perceptions, experiences, willingness and preferences regarding self-collected vaginal sampling for HPV DNA testing compared…
