چکیده اصلی

This article provides an epidemiologic overview of humanitarian crises (HCs) affecting children globally with data drawn from the UNICEF data profiles, citations from a narrative literature review, and reports from international organizations. Drafted with a review of the United Nations, international law, and human rights, the article begins with definitions of epidemiology and an identification of the gaps and challenges in developing the content for the field of HC epidemiology. The discussions illustrate how data can drive time-sensitive actions to positively affect the health and well-being of children and mitigate both short-term and long-term harm resulting from HC.

Antimicrobial resistance and social inequity: Why the one health approach must centre poverty.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the most consequential threats to global public health. In 2021, bacterial AMR was associated with an estimated 4.71 million deaths globally, including 1.14 million directly attributable to resistance. Yet, despite its designation as a global emergency, policy responses remain heavily focused on surveillance, antimicrobial stewardship, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical innovation. These interventi…
