The article critiques inconsistencies in existing quality metrics and emphasizes the need for reliability and validity in measurement models. It also describes the role of the Consensus-Based Entity (Battelle Partnership for Quality Measurement) in endorsing standardized, transparent, and evidence-based measures that support value-based care, public reporting, and continuous quality improvement.
