چکیده اصلی

PURPOSE: This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of global research on surgical interventions for pterygium, a condition characterized by fibrovascular growth on the cornea that can cause visual impairment. METHODS: This study employed bibliometric analysis using data from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Literature published from inception to 2024 was analyzed with the R package "bibliometrix," as well as CiteSpace and VOSviewer. RESULTS: By July 2024, a total of 1139 publications were identified, revealing a significant rise in studies since the 1990s. China and the United States were the most productive countries in this field. The Singapore National Eye Centre and Tel Aviv University emerged as the leading institutions in terms of publication output. The journal Cornea published the most articles, followed by the British Journal of Ophthalmology. The most impactful author was Tan DTH, followed by Kheirkhah A. The top 3 keywords identified were "excision," "mitomycin-C," and "recurrent pterygium." Cluster analysis revealed 5 key clusters: surgical and pharmacological treatments, excision and graft transplantation methods, molecular mechanisms, clinical complications and management, and disease prevalence with anatomical context. Keyword bursts highlighted growing interest in "pathogenesis," "prevalence," and "efficacy." CONCLUSIONS: This study presents the first bibliometric analysis of research on pterygium surgery. Future directions in this area may focus on targeted surgical strategies to enhance treatment efficacy.

Genome Assembly and Annotation of a Plant Pathogen Using the Example of Botrytis cinerea.

The availability of a high-quality genome assembly facilitates the analysis of fungal genomes. This chapter outlines the tools and steps involved in genome sequence assembly and annotation of a plant pathogen, Botrytis cinerea. We describe the use of Illumina short-read and Oxford Nanopore long-read sequencing data to assemble the B. cinerea genome. The steps include the pre-processing of sequencing data, genome assembly using Flye, sc…

Caring Behaviours in Nursing: A Bibliometric Analysis of Global Research Trends and Knowledge Structure.

BACKGROUND: Caring behaviours constitute one of the most visible ways in which "caring" is translated into everyday nursing practice, yet the field has become increasingly heterogeneous across settings, outcomes, and conceptual traditions. A field-level map is therefore needed to clarify how the literature has evolved and where it is currently concentrating. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to bibliometrically map the literature on caring b…

Culturally Embedded Participation Restrictions in Indian Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis: An ICF-Based Qualitative Study.

OBJECTIVE: To identify culturally relevant functioning issues experienced by Indian adults with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework. METHODS: A qualitative descriptive study using semi-structured focus group interviews was conducted with 38 ambulatory adults (35-85 years) diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Participants were recruited from physioth…
