The European Society of Cardiology (ESC) released new guidelines in 2025 for the management of myocarditis and pericarditis, which include systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases as one of the potential aetiologies. Myopericardial involvement in systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases is common and associated with poor outcomes; however, the unique pathophysiology of myopericardial involvement in systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases poses specific challenges and limits the applicability of the generic diagnostic pathways proposed in the 2025 ESC guidelines to the systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease population. Myopericardial disease in patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic disease is usually subclinical, often with atypical clinical presentation, and the accuracy of conventional biomarkers including advanced imaging, to detect myopericaridal disease is reduced in this population compared with the general population due to chronic inflamation. Management of myopericardial involvement in patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases primarily targets the underlying rheumatic disease; however, disease-specific guidance and multidisciplinary care pathways for the management of myopericardial involvement in patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases are urgently required and should be developed jointly by experts in both rheumatology and cardiology.

AA in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Lupus.

Inflammation and immune dysregulation are at the center of various diseases, including autoimmune diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus). In general, corticosteroids, disease-modifying drugs, and monoclonal antibodies against IL-6 and TNF-α, JAK inhibitors, and various other immunomodulators are extensively used in the treatment of RA and lupus. It is known that EFA (essential fatty acid…

A Notch signaling antagonist (DAPT) ameliorates autoimmune arthritis in mice by suppressing Th1 and Th17 immune responses.

BACKGROUND: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease for which targeted therapies remain limited. The Notch signaling pathway has been implicated in T cell differentiation and autoimmune inflammation. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of the Notch signaling antagonist DAPT on autoimmune arthritis in mice and to explore its underlying immunological mechanisms. METHODS: A co…

Corrigendum to: Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells relieve rheumatoid arthritis by blocking JAK/STAT and TLR-4/NF-?B pathways.

The authors have informed the Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PJPS) of an error in Figure 5 of the published article. During the editorial revision process, an incorrect version of Figure 5 was inadvertently included in the final published version. The authors have confirmed that the extreme-right panel (panel D) should be removed and that the remaining panels constitute the corrected Figure 5. Accordingly, Figure 5 is cor…

Culturally Embedded Participation Restrictions in Indian Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis: An ICF-Based Qualitative Study.

OBJECTIVE: To identify culturally relevant functioning issues experienced by Indian adults with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) using the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework. METHODS: A qualitative descriptive study using semi-structured focus group interviews was conducted with 38 ambulatory adults (35-85 years) diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Participants were recruited from physioth…
