Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a serious complication in patients undergoing hemodialysis. This cross-sectional study investigated the self-perceived knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) regarding VTE prevention among hemodialysis professionals and explored the factors influencing their preventive practices. Hemodialysis professionals were recruited using convenience sampling, and data were collected via the Wenjuanxing platform using a general information questionnaire and a self-developed KAP questionnaire on VTE prevention. A total of 515 questionnaires were distributed, and 474 valid questionnaires were returned, yielding a valid response rate of 92.03%. The mean total KAP score for VTE prevention was 164.12 ± 27.74, with a standardized score of 71.36 ± 12.06, indicating a moderately high overall level. Self-perceived knowledge, attitude, and practice were correlated with each other (r = 0.389-0.424, p < 0.001). Multivariate stepwise linear regression analysis showed that age, hospital type, hospital level, number of daily dialysis shifts, implementation of VTE risk assessment, awareness of VTE-related guidelines, and training frequency were significant associated factors of the total KAP score, among which the implementation of VTE risk assessment was the most important factor (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that targeted training programs, strengthened clinical management mechanisms, and improved awareness and application of VTE risk assessment are needed to further enhance the standardization and effectiveness of VTE prevention in hemodialysis patients.

AA in Brain-Memory, Dementia, Depression, Anxiety, Alzheimer's Disease, Affective and Psychiatric Disorders, and Coronary Heart Disease (CHD).

The human brain is rich in AA and DHA, which are crucial for normal brain growth and development and memory. They form a major structural component of neurons of the cerebral cortex and photoreceptor cells in the retina. AA and DHA support synaptic plasticity and contribute to efficient neurotransmission. Adequate amounts of AA and DHA support neuronal growth and the formation of new synapses and thus are crucial for memory and cogniti…

AA in Hypertension and Preeclampsia.

Human essential hypertension is driven by a network of interacting nutritional, metabolic, inflammatory, and endothelial mechanisms in which AA and other PUFAs play a critical role. Beyond excess sodium intake, population data supports the role of inadequate calcium, potassium, and magnesium intake and low antioxidant vitamin status in shaping blood pressure regulation. These nutrients influence vascular smooth muscle tone and act as c…
