Moringa oleifera, sometimes recognized as the "Tree of Life" or the "Miracle Tree" has captured a lot of attention. Moringa oleifera is a versatile plant that has a rich history of traditional use and a growing reputation in modern scientific research. This comprehensive review aims to synthesize existing scientific literature regarding the pharmacological properties of Moringa oleifera, drawing from preclinical and clinical studies. An organized search of electronic databases, including PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus, was conducted to compile data on various aspects of the plant, including its botanical characteristics, phytochemical composition, traditional uses, and documented pharmacological actions. The findings indicate that Moringa oleifera is rich in essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, which contribute to its health-promoting properties. Phytochemical analyses reveal a diverse array of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, phenolic acids, and glucosinolates, which exhibit significant antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, antifungal, cardioprotective, hypotensive, antidiabetic, and anticancer activities. The review underscores the historical use of Moringa in traditional medicine for various ailments and highlights the scientific validation of these claims through rigorous research. Despite the promising therapeutic attributes of Moringa oleifera, the review emphasizes the need for further investigations to elucidate its mechanisms of action and enhance its integration into conventional healthcare practices. The diverse pharmacological properties of Moringa oleifera suggest its potential as a valuable resource in addressing a wide range of health issues. This review not only consolidates existing knowledge but also serves as a foundation for future research aimed at harnessing the full therapeutic potential of this remarkable plant.
